Rolling three-foot waves run during the summer at America's 1st Wave Pool Water Park... Point Mallard's Aquatic Center. The Water Park and Open Air Pavilion are available for day parties and after hour's private parties at discount rates.
Alabama Jubilee
The Alabama Jubilee Hot-Air Balloon Classic, the oldest hot-air balloon race in the mid-South, started in Decatur in 1977. Scheduled featured activities include a fireworks extravaganza, an antique tractor show, classic car show, arts and crafts, stage entertainment, and children?s sports area. As always, public admission to the three day event is free
The Spirit of America Festival The Spirit of America Festival began in 1967 as anti-Vietnam War protest grew throughout the United States. Prominent citizens of Decatur decided to show their support for the servicemen and women in Vietnam and to promote patriotism in America through the presentation of an annual, free Fourth of July Event and Fireworks Show.
September Skirmish
(Labor Day Weekend) Point Mallard Park will again host the September Skirmish "Civil War Re-Enactment" featuring more than 200 authentically clad Union and Confederate soldiers, of all ages, in mock battles at 2:00 p.m. each day during the celebration. On Saturday night, there is always a candlelight tour of both the Union and Confederate camps. Admission is Free.
