Around the Park Home
Sprinkled among Point Mallard's major outdoor facilities are a number of other recreational facilities and activities available for your enjoyment. A large, covered pavilion with restrooms is available for groups of up to 500.
The open-air facility is perfect for meal functions, rallies, seminars, meetings, craft exhibitions and church organization activities. Contact group sales coordinator for rental fees and availability.
Also, to add a little bit more fun to your family outdoor activities, Point Mallard offers a 3-mile hiking/biking trail, three fenced and lighted baseball fields, a group pavilion, sand volleyball, extensive picnic grounds, amphitheatre, an open-air prayer chapel near our campground, and bank fishing along the Tennessee River! They also sponsor annual festivals such as the Balloon Festival, Civil War Reenactment, and much more.

The Strike Zone
The Strike Zone: Located at the Bill J. Dukes Ballfield complex features a Golf Driving Range and Batting Cages.
The Batting Cages feature Softball and Baseball pitching machines. Speeds range from 40 to 70 mph for baseball, and slow speed and fast pitch for softball. The cages are available for rent by the hour, and include a small practice infield with rental price.
The Golf Driving Range features target greens, putting green, sand trap, and enclosed shelter. Rental clubs are available, and debit cards are available for non operating hours. Hours for the Strike Zone are seasonal. Please call 301-0076 for additional information
T.C. Almon Center
The "T.C. Almon Center", located within Point Mallard Park, is free to the public and operated by the Decatur Parks and Recreation Department. The recreation center, is open daily, and has Basketball courts, weight room, game room, meeting rooms, craft room, kitchen, shower/locker facilities, a racquetball court, and vending machine area. Also, behind the T.C. Almon Recreational Center, is the "Jimmy Johns Tennis Center" which offers six tournament quality, lighted tennis courts. Bill J. Dukes Athletic Complex
The "Bill J. Dukes Athletic Complex", operated by Decatur Parks and Recreation Department, is located within Point Mallard Park. The 40-acre complex is composed of three lighted, fenced baseball fields (2-200 ft, 1-275 ft), each with bleachers on concrete pads, press boxes over dugouts, and a concession/restroom building.
Spirit of America Soccer Park
The Spirit of America Soccer Park is located within Point Mallard Park. The Soccer Park is owned and operated by the Parks and Recreation Department. The ten-acre Soccer Park is laser-graded, sodded, and lighted. For information contact decaturparks.com
Spirit of America Stage
The "Spirit of America Stage" is host site of the annual Spirit of America Fourth of July festival. Open-air stage has restrooms and a dressing room. Contact Decatur Parks and Recreation for further information. Go to decaturparks.com

Jimmy Johns Tennis Center
The "Jimmy Johns Tennis Center", located behind T.C. Almon Recreation Center in Point Mallard Park, is owned and operated by Decatur Parks and Recreation Department. The six laykold courts consist of four regulation courts and two championship courts. The courts are fenced and lighted, with seating available for spectators. For information, go to decaturparks.com
Prayer Chapel
The "Point Mallard Prayer Chapel" is available for your wedding. There is a small fee for the use of the chapel. It seats approximately 80 people, is lighted, and is an open-air facility. Contact Parks and Recreation Dept. at 256.341.4930 for fee, and information.
